Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Indians placed utilityman Yan Gomes on the paternity list among several Saturday roster moves.

Gomes left the club after his wife, Jenna, gave birth to the couple's first child. The 26-year-old Brazilian is hitting .261 with three homers and 10 RBI in 26 games.

Catcher George Kottaras and pitcher Nick Hagadone were summoned from Triple-A Columbus (IL), while infielder Elliot Johnson was designated for assignment.

Johnson collected just two hits in 19 at-bats over seven appearances for Cleveland this season, after batting .261 in 32 games for the Braves last year.

Kottaras has yet to participate in a game this season. He hit just .180 in 46 games in a reserve backstop role with the Royals in 2013.
