East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Giants have activated offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz from injured reserve/designated to return.

Schwartz has yet to play this season due to a dislocated big right toe he sustained in a preseason game against the Jets back in August. The Giants had until Monday to either place the offseason free-agent addition back on the active roster or keep him on IR for the remainder of the season.

The six-year veteran is expected to slot back into one of the guard spots for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to the injury, Schwartz had been manning left guard, where rookie Weston Richburg has performed solidly in his place.

Schwartz signed a four-year contract with the Giants in March after making seven starts with Kansas City last season.

Linebacker Justin Anderson was placed on waivers Monday to make room for Schwartz.
