The New York Giants placed linebacker Dan Connor on season-ending injured reserve with a neck injury on Thursday.

Connor, who signed with the Giants as a free agent on March 16, started New York's season-opening loss in Dallas, but left the contest with a neck injury and did not return.

A third-round pick (74th overall) of the Panthers in 2008, Connor has racked up 214 tackles, one sack, two passes defended and one forced fumble in 57 career games, including 27 starts, with Carolina, Dallas, and the Giants.

To replace Connor on the roster, the Giants claimed linebacker Allen Bradford off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

Bradford, 25, appeared in Seattle's season-opening victory at Carolina but did not record a tackle.
