Michael German ran for a 1-yard score with 8 seconds remaining in the game to keep Tennessee State unbeaten, propelling the Tigers to a 23-20 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.

German, who threw for 228 yards with a score and an interception, capped a 68-yard Tigers (6-0, 2-0 Ohio Valley Conference) drive in less than three minutes with his only rushing score of the contest. On the ensuing possession, Harold Watson intercepted Eastern Kentucky's T.J. Pryor on the game's final play to seal the win.

The Colonels (4-2, 2-1) turned the ball over on downs inside the Tennessee State 35 to set up the game-winning drive, opting to go for it on fourth-and-9 rather than punt or attempt a field goal that would have put them ahead by a touchdown. Pryor's pass attempt to Tyrone Goard fell incomplete, turning the ball over to the Tigers for their final march.
