The Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks are heading to a third overtime period in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series.

The tired teams were tied at 2 after 100 minutes of play on Tuesday night. It was the longest game in Nashville history.

Colin Wilson and James Neal had the goals for the Predators, and Antoine Vermette and Brandon Saad scored for the Blackhawks.

Chicago leads the series 2-1.

Blackhawks rookie Scott Darling had 50 saves going into the third extra session. Predators star Pekka Rinne had 44.

Rinne made a terrific sprawling stop on Andrew Desjardins' backhand after the forward cut across the goal about 13 minutes into the first overtime. On the other side, Darling robbed Neal with a glove save on his quick shot off a faceoff.
