Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Flyers have signed center Chris VandeVelde to a one-year contract.

VandeVelde had been with the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Adirondack and recorded seven goals with six assists for 13 points in 23 games for the Phantoms.

A fourth-round pick by Edmonton in 2005, the 26-year-old veteran spent three seasons with the Oilers' organization. He appeared in 28 NHL games with the Oilers, notching a goal and two assists.

The Flyers also loaned left wing Tye McGinn to Adirondack. McGinn has three goals in six games for the Flyers this season.
