Vienna, Austria (SportsNetwork.com) - Top seeds David Ferrer and Andy Murray were a pair of straight-set quarterfinal winners Friday at the Erste Bank Open tennis event.

The former French Open runner-up Ferrer held off sixth-seeded 6-foot-10 Croat Ivo Karlovic 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, while the two-time Grand Slam champion Murray handled German Jan-Lennard Struff 6-2, 7-5 on the hardcourts at Wiener Stadthalle.

Ferrer's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be fourth-seeded German Philipp Kohlschreiber, while Murray will encounter Serbian qualifier Viktor Troicki.

"I've played well against Troicki in the past. He's a very good athlete, he moves extremely well, and has a big serve," said Murray. "He always makes you work for matches. We have had some tough matches, close matches."

Kohlschreiber got past fellow German Benjamin Becker 6-4, 7-6 (7-3), while Troicki outlasted Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (2-7), 6-2 on Day 5.

The winner of this European indoor swing tournament will collect $120,000.
