Fellaini signs new five-year deal with Everton

Liverpool, England – Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini year contract Thursday with the English Premier League club.

Fellaini, 23, had a contract through next season but the Belgian international has committed his future to the Liverpool-based club. Fellaini joined Everton in 2008 from Belgium's Standard Liege.

"Marouane has been a hugely influential player for Everton since his arrival in 2008 and we hope that remains to be the case for the next five years," said Everton chief executive Robert Elstone.

Fellaini, who has already played 31 matches for Belgium, has started eight of his nine EPL appearances this season.
