Radamel Falcao single-handedly dismantled Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup on Friday as he scored a first-half hat trick to lead Atletico Madrid to a 4-1 win.

The Europa League champions took the game to Chelsea from the start, and after Falcao hit the crossbar in the fourth minute, he opened his account a few minutes later when he was played in on goal and chipped the ball past goalkeeper Petr Cech and off the far post before it settled into the net.

Falcao's second tally came in the 19th minute when he curled a brilliant shot beyond the reach and Cech and inside the left post, while he completed his hat trick in first-half stoppage time by rolling the ball underneath the goalkeeper after dashing into the area on the left.

Atletico increased its lead on the hour mark from a free kick as Miranda collected a loose ball inside the penalty area to score, while Gary Cahill pulled a goal back for the Blues 15 minutes from time.
