F Shawne Williams waived by the Los Angeles Lakers

DALLAS – The Los Angeles Lakers have waived forward Shawne Williams.

Williams averaged 5.2 points and 4.5 rebounds while playing about 20 minutes a game before being waived Tuesday. He started 11 of his 32 games this season.

Originally selected 17th overall by Indiana in 2006, Williams signed with the Lakers in September.

The Lakers had lost seven of eight going into Tuesday night's game at Dallas.
