One other quarterfinal saw Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu overcome Spanish fellow non-seed Estrella Cabeza Candela, a qualifier this week, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.

Saturday's semifinals will pit Errani against Begu and Zahlavova Strycova versus Robson.
