Justin Stommes scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half to lead Eastern Kentucky to a 67-47 blowout victory over Eastern Illinois on Saturday night.

The Colonels (15-11, 9-6 Ohio Valley Conference) trailed 30-28 with 17:39 left to play before going on a 23-8 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Stommes with 11:23 to go.

Eastern Kentucky followed that run by scoring 12 straight points — eight from Stommes — and turning a 51-41 lead into a 63-41 advantage with 2:19 remaining.

Jeff Johnson added 16 points and Spencer Perrin had 10 for the Colonels, who shot 69.6 percent from the field (16 of 23), including 9 for 13 from 3-point range (69.2 percent) in the second half.

Eastern Kentucky shot just 9 for 26 from the field (34.6 percent) in the first.

Jeremy Granger scored 15 points and L.C. Doss added 10 for the Panthers (8-17, 4-11), who have lost seven straight.
