Eagles quarterback Vick "day-to-day" with rib injury
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}NEW YORK (Reuters) - Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Michael Vick has a rib cartilage injury and his return date is unknown, the NFL team said on Monday.
Vick had been too sore to practice after being injured during Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Washington Redskins when he was sandwiched between two defenders while diving toward the end zone.
"This is going to be one of those day-to-day, week-to-week (type of injuries)," Eagles coach Andy Reid told reporters. "We'll just see how it goes and how he feels along the way. He's sore."
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Reid said he had already talked to the team's general manager about finding a backup quarterback, if necessary.
Kevin Kolb, the team's starting quarterback until he suffered a concussion in the opening week of the season, replaced Vick in Sunday's game.
Reid also said Eagles running back LeSean McCoy suffered a rib fracture during the game but could play in the team's October 10 game against San Francisco with additional padding.
