The Philadelphia Eagles have released defensive back Joselio Hanson after six seasons.

Hanson was one of the 22 cuts the Eagles have to make to get their roster down to 53 players by the 9 p.m. ET Friday deadline.

Also cut were wide receivers Chad Hall and rookie Marvin McNutt and linebacker Keenan Clayton.

Hanson, 31, played the past six of his seven NFL seasons for the Eagles mostly as a nickelback. He had 30 tackles and four passes defensed in 16 games last season, including one start. He has appeared in at least 12 games in every season since 2004, when he broke into the league with the San Francisco 49ers.
