Eagles beat 49ers to secure playoff berth
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - The Philadelphia Eagles wrapped up a playoff berth when they turned back the San Francisco 49ers 27-13 in their weather-delayed game on Sunday.
The Eagles' home win, achieved after a three-hour delay stemming from the massive snowstorm that hit the Northeast United States on Saturday, also gave Philadelphia (10-4) a one-game lead over the Dallas Cowboys (9-5) with two remaining in the NFC East championship race.
Donovan McNabb passed for one touchdown and ran for another to help the Eagles win their fifth consecutive game.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Reserve quarterback Michael Vick suffered a thigh bruise in the first quarter and did not return.
Philadelphia followed the San Diego Chargers and Arizona Cardinals who also grabbed playoff berths on Sunday.
Arizona (9-5) turned back the Detroit Lions 31-24, then were guaranteed the NFC West crown by the Eagles' defeat of the 49ers (6-8).
