Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Corey Perry had two goals and two assists while Ryan Getzlaf added a goal and three helpers as the Anaheim Ducks thumped the Calgary Flames, 6-1, in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinal series.
Emerson Etem, Patrick Maroon and Matt Beleskey each lit the lamp for the Ducks, who have yet to lose in the postseason as they swept the Jets in the opening round.
Frederik Andersen turned away 23 shots in the easy win.
"We've had so many let-downs in the year that we wanted to keep our foot on the gas the whole game," said Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau. "Against a team like Calgary, you don't want to give them any chance because they never quit."
Sam Bennett had the only goal of the game for the Flames, who defeated the Canucks in six games in the first round.
"We know what we have to do and we have two days to get ready for the next one," said Calgary forward Matt Stajan. "We just have to come out way harder on Sunday."
Jonas Hiller was pulled early in the second period after allowing three goals on 14 shots, while Karri Ramo also gave up three goals on 21 shots.
Game 2 of this best-of-seven series will take place on Sunday night in Anaheim.
Calgary nearly took an early lead as Josh Jooris went in on a clean break two minutes in, but Andersen turned aside the shot.
It was all Anaheim from there.
The Ducks took a 1-0 lead at 10:17 when Hampus Lindholm blasted a shot from the high slot off the back wall and Kyle Palmieri one-timed a pass to the slot where Beleskey snapped it in for his first of the playoffs.
It was a 2-0 game three minutes later as Ryan Getzlaf threw a backhand to the slot from the left boards and Maroon pushed it in.
Perry made it a 3-0 game 2:13 into the second when his wraparound from the left side went inside the far post for his fourth of the playoffs, and Hiller was pulled from the net.
Ramo didn't have much better luck, as Etem jammed in a rebound just past the midway mark of the second for a 4-0 advantage.
The Ducks took a 5-0 lead just 44 seconds into the third on the power play as Getzlaf sent a pass from the left point to the low left side where Perry found a hole for his second of the game.
Getzlaf added a power-play marker of his own less than two minutes later for a 6-0 game.
Bennett was able to get Calgary on the board at 9:16 of the third when a bounce off an Anaheim player saw the puck go to the left wing where he one- timed it in for his third of the playoffs.

Calgary forwards Jiri Hudler and Michael Ferland left the game with undisclosed injuries ... Anaheim won the regular-season series, 3-1-1 ... The only prior postseason matchup between these clubs was in 2006, when the Ducks downed the Flames in seven games in the first round ...
