The Los Angeles Dodgers made a depth move at the trade deadline on Wednesday, picking up reserve catcher Drew Butera from the Minnesota Twins for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Butera only appeared in two games with the Twins this season, failing to register a hit.

Over a four-year career, all with Minnesota, the 29-year-old backstop is a .182 hitter with five homers, 21 doubles and 41 RBI in 186 appearances.

Butera was also optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque.
