Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed third baseman Jake Lamb on the 15-day disabled list with a left foot stress reaction.
The 24-year-old rookie had been one of the league's best hitters in the young season, producing a .414 batting average and .514 on-base percentage through 10 games after winning the third base job from Cuban slugger Yasmany Tomas in spring training.
To take Lamb's place on the 25-man roster, Arizona promoted first baseman Danny Dorn from Triple-A Reno. The 30-year-old was batting .474 with two home runs in 10 games for the Aces and has not yet played in the majors after beginning his professional career in 2006.
Catcher Gerald Laird was transferred to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Dorn on the 40-man roster. Laird has been sidelined with a back injury since early April.
