Diamondbacks DFA Ransom, recall Bell

Phoenix, AZ – The Arizona Diamondbacks designated infielder Cody Ransom for assignment Monday and recalled Josh Bell from Triple-A Reno.

Ransom, who has played mostly at third base, was hitting .269 with four homers and 13 RBI in 17 games for the Diamondbacks.

He has played 10 games in Reno this season, batting .294 with a .400 on-base percentage.

Bell, acquired from the Orioles on April 21, was hitting .381 in 26 games for the Aces before his call up.
