Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish and Cardinals third baseman David Freese are going to the All-Star Game after winning the online fan vote.

Major League Baseball announced the results of the Final Vote on Thursday.

Darvish, the 25-year-old phenom from Japan, is 10-5 with a 3.59 ERA in his rookie season.

Freese, last year's World Series MVP, also made his first All-Star team.

Darvish beat out fellow pitchers Jake Peavy of the White Sox, Jason Hammel of the Orioles, Jonathan Broxton of the Royals and Ernesto Frieri of the Angels in that order, according to MLB.com, where the vote is held each year.

Freese got a boost when retiring Braves third baseman Chipper Jones was added to the National League All-Star roster to replace injured Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, taking him off the ballot.

He beat Braves outfielder Michael Bourn, Nationals rookie Bryce Harper and Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill, in that order.
