Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Cubs have avoided arbitration with Justin Ruggiano, agreeing to a terms on a contract for the 2014 season.

The Cubs acquired the outfielder in a trade with Miami last month.

Ruggiano, 31, batted .222 with 18 homers and 50 RBI over 128 games with the Marlins last season.

For his career, Ruggiano has hit .251 with 37 homers and 109 RBI in 317 games with Tampa Bay and Miami.
