The Chicago Cubs have agreed to terms with 21 players, including second baseman Darwin Barney, on contracts for 2013.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Barney batted .254 with seven homers and 44 runs batted in last season. He is a career .263 hitter in two-plus seasons as Chicago's second baseman.

Catcher Welington Castillo and pitchers Travis Wood, Brooks Raley and Chris Rusin were among the other notables who agreed to one-year deals. Castillo batted .265 in 52 games last season, while Wood was 6-13 with a 4.27 ERA in 26 starts. Raley and Rusin combined for 12 starts last season.
