Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby is ready to get back to work.

The 2007 NHL MVP will make his season debut on Monday night when the Penguins host the New York Islanders, his first game in nearly a year.

Crosby hasn't played since sustaining head shots in consecutive games in January. He says the last 10 months have been frustrating, but that he knew he needed to take his time.

He was cleared by his medical team on Sunday, and his return has generated playoff-like buzz.

He fielded questions from dozens of reporters after the team's morning skate. The 24-year-old says he's not sure how much he'll play against the Islanders. Coach Dan Bylsma admitted it will be difficult to keep his captain off the ice.
