Anthony Raffa scored 14 points in the opening 9:40 of the game to reach 1,000 in his career at Coastal Carolina, and he ended the night with a game-high 26 points to lead the Chanticleers to a 96-40 win over Johnson & Wales (N.C) on Tuesday.

He became the 17th player in school history to reach 1,000 points (in three seasons) with a free throw at the 10:20 mark.

El Hadji Ndieguene added a season-high 16 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds, and Charles Ashford also scored 16.

It was the third time in four games Raffa has scored more than 20 points for Coastal Carolina, which is 2-2 after back-to-back losses at Mississippi and Tennessee Tech.

Kindrick Anderson led Johnson & Wales (1-9) with nine points.

Coastal Carolina forced Johnson & Wales into 25 turnovers and held them to 24.1 percent shooting (14 for 58).
