Desmond Holloway scored a career-high 27 points to lead Coastal Carolina to a 58-55 victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday night for its 16th consecutive victory.

Holloway scored seven points in the final 1:56 to reach the 20-point mark for the eighth time this season for the Chanticleers (18-2, 9-0 Big South Conference). They haven't lost since Nov. 18.

Gardner-Webb (7-14, 2-7), which has lost 10 of 11, led 54-51 when Holloway converted a three-point play to tie the score with 1:55 left. He then hit a layup and followed that with a jumper for a 58-54 lead with 45 seconds to play.

The Bulldogs missed three 3-point attempts in the final 31 seconds.

Chad Gray added 10 points for Coastal Carolina, which shot 54.5 percent from the floor (12 of 22) after shooting 34.6 in the first half (9 of 26).

Laron Buggs led Gardner-Webb with 16 points and Jon Moore added 14.
