The Los Angeles Clippers announced that forward Blake Griffin will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Monday to repair the medial meniscus tear of his left knee, an injury that will force him to miss the upcoming Olympics.

Griffin suffered the injury during practice for the U.S. national team last Wednesday in Las Vegas. An MRI exam performed the next day revealed the damage.

The Clippers said last week that Griffin is expected to be ready for training camp this fall.

Griffin averaged 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds in 66 games this past season.
