Major League Baseball announced the results of its annual Competitive Balance Lottery on Wednesday and the Indians were awarded an extra pick.

Before we get to that pick, here's some background on how it works, from MLB:

The lottery gives teams with the lowest revenues and in the smallest markets the opportunity to obtain additional draft picks.

Clubs with the lowest revenues and the 10 Clubs in the smallest markets were entered into a lottery for the six selections immediately following the first round of the draft.

The eligible clubs that did not receive one of the six selections after the first round, and all other payee clubs under the Revenue Sharing Plan, were entered into a second lottery for the six picks immediately following the second round of the Draft.

A club's odds of winning the lottery were based on its prior season's winning percentage compared to other eligible clubs in that lottery round.

The Indians did not win a pick in Round A, however they did win the second pick in Round B of the CBL.

Here are the results:

Round A (Takes place after the first round of the draft.)

- Reds

- A's

- Rockies

- Diamondbacks

- Marlins

- Pirates

Round B (Takes place after the second round of the draft.)

- Padres

- Indians

- Twins

- Brewers

- Orioles

- Rays

As noted by Let's Go Tribe, the second pick in Round B (the one the Indians hold) was No. 71 overall in this year's draft, and No. 70 overall in the 2014 draft; so it will likely be somewhere in that ballpark next year.
