Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Chiefs have placed rookie tight end Travis Kelce on injured reserve after he had arthroscopic surgery this week to repair damaged cartilage in his left knee.

Kansas City also elevated defensive back Bradley McDougald to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.

Kelce, a third-round pick in this year's draft, had been dealing with a knee injury since training camp. The Cincinnati product did not appear in a game this season.
