Glasgow, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Celtic claimed a 2-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Parkhead on Wednesday to maintain its seven-point lead over Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premier League table.

Celtic was in cruise control from then on, but Stefan Johansen provided an insurance goal in the 63rd minute to help his side rise to 72 points on the season.

Aberdeen managed to stay within touching distance of Celtic by grabbing a 1-0 victory over Inverness on Wednesday. Ashton Taylor netted the lone goal, striking for the home side in the 47th minute.

Also on Wednesday, Dundee FC received goals from Greg Stewart, James McPake and Paul Heffernan en route to a 3-1 victory over Dundee United.
