Poor Carl Edwards is having rotten luck with his motorcoach.

For the second weekend in a row, Edwards' motorcoach suffered issues and this time it didn't get to Homestead-Miami Speedway when it was supposed to, which left Edwards with nothing to wear except the clothes on his back.

That necessitating an emergency run to a clothing store -- complete with police escort -- for Edwards and his public relations representative, Randy Fuller.

Randy is a great guy, a longtime NASCAR veteran who for years has done a first-rate job representing Edwards and his sponsors. He's one of the very best in the business.

That said, Fuller is, well, older than Edwards.

And Edwards is in tremendous physical shape and has been featured in numerous fitness articles.

Plus, Fuller and Edwards are in Miami.

So they go into the clothing store, Edwards in "my standard Carl outfit, like shorts, dumb shirt, black shoes."

Hilarity ensued.

"I said, 'Man I'm panicked, I've got to be on a yacht in like 15 minutes, I need something nice to wear,'" Edwards told the sales person.

"So while I'm trying everything on, shirts, pants, Randy is doing -- Randy's deal is he's standing over there looking at his watch, 'Yeah, whatever, that's fine, that looks great,'" said Edwards.

"Guy walks up (to Randy) and said, 'Sir, can we help you?'

"And Randy said, 'No, I'm with him.'

"The guy said, 'All riiigghhht!'"

Welcome to South Florida, fellas.

"Randy was like, 'I'm not sure what just happened there,'" said Edwards. "So it was pretty exciting. … But yeah, that really happened."
