Carolina rookie Cam Newton has run for three touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, breaking the NFL single-season record for rushing TDs by a quarterback.

The 2010 Heisman Trophy winner scored his 11th, 12th and 13th rushing TDs of the season on a trio of 1-yard runs, helping the Panthers to a 38-12 lead in the fourth quarter.

Newton broke the previous record of 12, set by New England's Steve Grogan in 1976.
