Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah will be shut down for at least one week due to a groin injury.

Noah initially suffered the injury in the first week of training camp. He returned to game action Wednesday night against the Pistons in a preseason contest.

"We're going to shut Jo down. He's got a little soreness (in his groin) so we want to make sure we get that taken care of," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Friday.

The Florida product averaged 11.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 66 games last season for the Bulls, who lost to the Miami Heat in the conference semifinals.
