Aberdeen, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Celtic reaffirmed its status as the best team in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday as Scott Brown's goal in the 49th minute was the difference in a 1-0 win at second-place Aberdeen.

Celtic entered the contest having already clinched the league title, while Aberdeen was determined to take three points at home against the champions.

The Dons came out strong and Barry Robson sent a shot whistling past the Celtic net from outside the box before Mark Reynolds failed to hit the target from close range.

Celtic began to get into the game as the first half wore on, and the Hoops snatched the lead shortly after the break when Stuart Armstrong got to the end line and pulled the ball back for Brown to finish off from a few yards.

Leigh Griffiths and Kris Commons threatened to add to Celtic's lead, but they were denied by Aberdeen goalkeeper Scott Brown, while the home side's best chance at an equalizer came in the closing minutes when substitute Lawrence Shankland failed to direct his header on goal from a dangerous position.
