The Denver Broncos have placed safety Quinton Carter on injured reserve and center J.D. Walton on the physically unable to perform list to reach the 75-man roster limit.

Carter started 10 games as a rookie in 2011, then appeared in three games last season before a knee injury cut his campaign short. The 2011 fourth-round pick had a pair of interceptions during the postseason of his rookie year.

Walton will miss at least the first six weeks of the regular season because of a lingering ankle issue. He had started 36 games after being selected in the third round of the 2010 draft before suffering a fractured and dislocated ankle during Week 4 of the 2012 season.
