Brewers' Gorzelanny exits early with elbow injury
Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Tom Gorzelanny left Friday's start against the Washington Nationals in the second inning after taking a Jayson Werth liner off his pitching elbow.
Gorzelanny retired the Nats in order in the first before Werth led off the second with a line drive back up the middle that struck Gorzelanny flush on his left elbow.
After meeting with the training staff, the veteran southpaw fired a warm-up pitch that he was unable to get anything on before walking toward the Milwaukee dugout.
Alfredo Figaro took over on the mound for Gorzelanny, who entered Friday's contest with a 2-4 record and a 2.83 earned run average.
