The Milwaukee Brewers activated pitcher Shaun Marcum from the 60-day disabled list on Friday.

Marcum landed on the DL in June due to tightness in his right elbow. He is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The 30-year-old right-hander is 5-3 with a 3.39 earned run average in 13 starts this season, his second with the Brewers. He was 13-7 with a 3.54 ERA in 33 starts last year after being acquired from Toronto.

Marcum missed a good portion of the 2008 season with elbow problems and eventually underwent Tommy John surgery later that year before missing all of the 2009 campaign.
