However, despite all that, New Orleans (13-3) still needs some help to secure a first-round bye for the playoffs. If San Francisco beats St. Louis on Sunday, the 49ers will secure the NFC's No. 2 seed for the postseason and the Saints will have the No. 3 seed.
Brees, who passed Hall of Famer Dan Marino on Monday for the NFL record, extended single-season mark and finished the regular season with 5,476 yards. He threw five touchdowns and was intercepted once.
