The Atlanta Braves activated outfielder Jason Heyward from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Heyward has been sidelined since undergoing an emergency appendectomy on April 22 in Denver. The 23-year-old is hitting .121 with two home runs and five RBI in 17 games this season.

To create a roster spot for Heyward, the club placed reliever Jordan Walden on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander is 1-1 with a 4.85 ERA in 14 games for Atlanta this season.
