Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Luis Perez will miss the remainder of the season after tearing the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow.

The 27-year-old left-hander suffered the injury in the seventh inning of Sunday's 11-9 victory over the Chicago White Sox and was placed on the 15-day DL after the game.

He will seek a second opinion before deciding whether or not to receive Tommy John surgery.

Perez has made 35 relief appearances for the Blue Jays this season, pitching to a 2-2 record with a 3.43 ERA.
