After acquiring defenseman Brett Lebda from Toronto earlier in the day, Nashville made another move Sunday when general manager David Poile announced the team have agreed to a one-year contract with forward Niclas Bergfors.

The contract will pay Bergfors $575,000 for the 2011-12 season.

Bergfors, 24, scored 12 goals and added 24 assists in 72 games last year with the Atlanta Thrashers and Florida Panthers. Bergfors, who was traded from Atlanta to Florida midway through the 2010-11 season, originally came to Atlanta as one of the key pieces in New Jersey's package for winger Ilya Kovalchuk in February 2010.

During the 2009-10 season, Bergfors had 21 goals and 23 assists, which earned him a spot on the NHL's All-Rookie Team that season.
