Belgium champion Genk names Been new manager

Belgian champions Genk named Mario Been its new manager Tuesday.

Been, 47, succeeds Franky Vercauteren, who left the club earlier this month to join United Arab Emirates side Al-Jazira. He started his coaching career as an assistant at Feyenoord, and was head coach at Excelsior, NEC and Feyenoord.

Genk is in Group E of the Champions League this season with Chelsea, Valencia and Bayer Leverkusen.
