The Chicago Bears signed defensive tackle Amobi Okoye on a one-year contract Monday.

Okoye, the 10th overall selection by the Houston Texans in the 2007 draft, spent last season with Chicago and played in all 16 games, starting one. He posted 27 tackles and four sacks.

A five-year veteran, he signed a contract with Tampa Bay in the offseason, but was released by the team on Friday. He had missed much of the preseason while recovering from a knee scope.

The 25-year-old has posted 15 sacks and 165 tackles over 78 games in his career.

To make room on the roster, the team released defensive tackle Brian Price, who was acquired from Tampa Bay in a trade this past July. He posted 27 tackles and three sacks in 20 contests with the Bucs over two seasons.
