Jupiter, FL – The Houston Astros signed catcher Landon Powell to a minor league contract on Wednesday.
Powell was released by Oakland last Friday.
Originally a 2004 first-round draft pick, Powell hit .207 with 10 homers and 45 RBI in three seasons with the Athletics.
