The Oakland Athletics have reinstated reliever Jordan Norberto from the 15-day disabled list and recalled catcher Derek Norris from Triple-A Sacramento.

Norberto hasn't pitched for the A's since May 30 because of a strained left shoulder. He had a save and a 3.91 ERA in 21 appearances prior to landing on the DL.

Norris was batting .273 with eight home runs and 36 RBI in 55 games for the River Cats this season. He was part of the return Oakland got from the Washington Nationals in the Gio Gonzalez trade last December.

The 23-year-old Norris will make his major league debut in Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is scheduled to bat seventh in the lineup.

To make room on the roster, the A's optioned pitcher Pedro Figueroa and catcher/infielder Josh Donaldson to Sacramento.
