Argentina has advanced to the Davis Cup quarterfinals after the doubles team of David Nalbandian and Eduardo Schwank rallied from two sets down to beat the German duo of Tommy Haas and Philipp Petzschner.

Nalbandian and Schwank pulled out a 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 triumph to give the Argentines an insurmountable 3-0 lead in the best-of-five tie.

Juan Monaco and Nalbandian earned singles wins on Friday to set the stage for Saturday's clinching victory.

Argentina is still trying for that elusive first Davis Cup title, having finished as the runner-up four times. The Argentines lost to Spain in last year's final and will next face the winner between Croatia and Japan in April.

Germany fell to 2-6 all-time against Argentina, including a 5-0 setback in the last meeting back in 2003.
