Romney to NAACP: Voting GOP good for your families

HOUSTON (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will tell black voters Wednesday that backing him over the Democratic incumbent, who won their overwhelming support in 2008, is in the best interest of their families. "I believe that if you understood who I truly am in my heart, and if it were possible to fully communicate what I believe is in the real, enduring best interest of African-American families, you would vote for me for president," Romney will tell the NAACP's annual meeting, according to excerpts of his speech that were released early by his campaign.
