Russian side Anzhi signed midfielder Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid on a four-year contract Tuesday.

Diarra, 27, was at Real Madrid from 2009-12. He transfers to Anzhi on a four- year deal. The France international has played 28 times for his country.

Anzhi also signed forward Nikita Burmistrov, 23. He had three goals in seven matches for Amkar this season. Terms of his contract were not disclosed.

"Signing these high-quality players is in line with our club's strategy of achieving success," said Anzhi general manager Aivaz Kaziakhmedov, according to UEFA's website.

"We believe (they) will help us in fighting for the highest goals."
