The LA Angels of Anaheim placed pitcher Jordan Walden on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a right biceps strain.

The move is retroactive to July 9 and the team recalled outfielder Kole Calhoun from Triple-A Salt Lake to take his spot on the roster.

On the season, Walden is 2-2 with one save and a 3.86 earned run average in 31 games.

Calhoun appeared in eight games for the Angels in late May and early June this season and had three hits in 12 at-bats.
