Junior Chazz Anderson started at quarterback for Cincinnati, filling in for the injured Zach Collaros.

Anderson made his second start in two years Saturday against Syracuse. Collaros bruised his left knee in the fourth quarter of a loss to South Florida a week earlier, and had limited mobility in practice and pregame warmups. Coach Butch Jones announced the move shortly before kickoff.

Anderson started two games after Tony Pike broke his forearm two years ago, his only significant playing time. Collaros became the starter this season for the two-time defending Big East champions.
