Allmendinger set to make NASCAR return for Penske in 2 Nationwide Series races

DOVER, Del. – AJ Allmendinger is set to return to NASCAR and drive in two Nationwide Series races for Penske Racing.

Allmendinger has been running a part-time schedule with Penske's IndyCar program. He finished seventh in the Indianapolis 500.

Allmendinger is scheduled to drive the July 22 Road America race in Elkhart Lake, Wis., and the Aug. 17 road course race in Lexington, Ohio.

He's been out of NASCAR since being suspended for a failed drug test last year. Penske fired him but gave him another chance in IndyCar.
